Profile

Established in the year 1962, the Department of Geology provides B.Sc. in Geology (honours & non-honours) in CBCS Mode, and is equipped with its own library of more than 400 collections of text and reference books, museum-cum-specimen hall (containing numerous collections of fossils, crystals, minerals, ores and rock specimens), integrated laboratory & classroom, laboratory (equipped with microscopes, sieving machine, surveying kit, fume chamber, digital balance, centrifuge, GPS, EDM, Clinometer & Brunton transits, field study kit, stereoscopes etc.) and ICT classroom (equipped with computer and LCD projectors). Faculties of the Department has published several books from their personal effort provide adequate teaching materials to the students. Department has been adopting online teaching techniques for progressive teaching-learning to cope with adverse situations arise during pandemic emergency. The efforts made by the Department is reflected in final results of the students in which the department has been producing more than 95% first divisions every year since last decade.
